Descriptif

The course focuses on the economic and social aspects of technological innovation. It aims to create cross-pollinating partnerships between Telecom Paris students and startups incubated by the Novation Center.

By leveraging substantive literature on innovation and adopting a hands-on approach, students will be trained to act as consultants for the startups. Their goal will be to foster innovation and to assess the socio-economic impact of each company.

Students will form teams, supervised by expert tutors.

Evaluation: Mid-course assessment (by team); continuous assessment (individual); final presentation (by team); final report (by team).

The course will be delivered in English. A good understanding of written and spoken Eglish is required.

Objectifs pédagogiques

The final purpose of this course is to boost students' understanding of the social and economic dimensions of technology. This will equip them with competencies that overcome the simple technical skills that are necessary to innovate — so to provide the "x factor" that fosters employability in today's competitive labor markets.
