Many applications currently involve virtual characters (video games, virtual worlds, animation, digital arts, pedagogical agents, on-line assistants, etc.).
This module presents the main areas of research in modeling, animating, and rendering realistic and expressive autonomous virtual humans.
It consists of two complementary courses in the areas of
(1) research works in real-time computer graphics for interactive and expressive faces and body rendering, and
(2) the foundations of multimodal communication in relation with theories and models from Psychology that are adapted to inform the design of computational models of interactive and expressive virtual humans.
