(There are some exceptions here, for example they cannot take courses in architecture, medicine and design). In other words, Telecom Paris students should have no problems taking the economics and business courses. The only thing that needs to be checked, is that he/she fulfils the required previous knowledge. There is information on the pre-required knowledge in the course descriptions on our website. The faculty might assess the background of the student to see if he/she is qualified, so I advise you to check the criteria in advance."

    • All: 1 October
  • Starting autumn semester
    • Non-EU/non-EEA students: 1 April

Informations utiles concernant le choix des cours - transmis par NTNU

How do I choose courses?

You should figure out which courses you want to take before starting your application. List the courses you would like to take in your application - this will act as a guideline for the faculties.

Tips for selecting courses:

Consult the course catalogue. Make sure you check the box 'English lectures'. The courses for the following year will not be updated until after the application deadline, but most courses will stay constant.

If a course is project based it can normally be supervised in English, even though the language of instruction is Norwegian.

Bachelor courses are normally called  "Foundation", "Intermediate" or "Third-year" courses, Master's level courses are called "Second degree level" and PhD courses are called "Doctoral degree level". Some variations of these names may occur. You can select courses from different study levels.

You can apply for "Doctoral degree level" courses, however exchange students are usually not admitted to these courses. It is therefore important that you have also selected enough "Foundation", "Intermediate" or "Third-year" courses.

Are you eligible? Check if the course requires previous knowledge, the language of instruction, study level, ect.

You can choose courses at different faculties/institutes.

You are not guaranteed entry to the courses you select. It is the faculty/institute that have the final say in whether you get admission to a course.

Changing your courses

If the course you list is not offered or you are not eligible for admission, you will get the opportunity to pick new courses after arrival at NTNU. Also, if you change your mind about the courses you would like to take; it is usually not a problem to change your courses after arrival.

Information transmise par NTNU: We require all international students to have a good command of English at an academic level and you may need to provide TOEFL/IELTS test scores. Students taking courses in English are not required to have any Norwegian language knowledge.

Informations utiles concernant votre candidature – information transmise par NTNU

What confirmations can I expect during the application process?

The normal processing time is 8 weeks from after the official deadline has passed. This means that you might have to wait until the end of June / early July to get an offer of admission. This is considered normal processing time. We do unfortunately not have the capacity to confirm the receipt of individual applications or documents. We will inform you if something is missing. Selecting 'Early admission' on Søknadsweb will not affect the processing time of your application. You can choose courses at different faculties/institutes, but note that this might make affect the processing time. Answer are sent on a rolling basis. This means that some students will get a response sooner than others. This also applies to students from the same university. All students will be notified about the status of their application - also those who do not recieve admission. We understand that the waiting period can be frustrating and that might affect students that need an admission confirmation before they can get a scholarship. This is unfortunate, but your application needs to be evaluated and accepted by several different people at NTNU, so the process takes time. We hope that you understand and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Informations pratiques concernant les Tuition fees

How much are the tuition and fees at NTNU?

Exchange students from partner institutions do not pay any tuition fees at NTNU. Students from countries outside the EU/EEA/EFTA coming to NTNU for a degree (not exchange studies) should see this page for an overview of tuition fees: https://www.ntnu.edu/studies/tuition-fee

Proof of financing for non-EU nationals

Students who are not citizens of an EU/EEA country need to document a certain amount of money in a Norwegian bank account in order to be granted a student residence permit / visa to Norway.

Check this page : https://www.ntnu.edu/studies/financingandscholarships/is_self_financing to see the currently required amount. The Norwegian Immigration Authorities (UDI) enforce this rule strictly and will not accept other means of documentation such as a bank statement from a bank in your home country or financial guarantees from relatives or others. Accepted student will receive more information from the NTNU International Office about this together with their invitation letter.

Please note that non-EU/non-EEA/non-EFTA citizens with Erasmus+ Scholarships from a European university will only need to enclose documentation for this scholarship when they apply for a student visa.
