studying at PUC-Rio and we strongly recommend them to inform CCCI as well as CCESP

Durée de la mobilité 

Ce que dit l’accord : « la durée de la scolarité est allongée au minimum d’un semestre ».

Les élèves de TP arriveront à PUC avant la rentrée du 2ème semestre (début août). L’élève suivra au minimum 3 semestres d’enseignement à la PUC.

Au cours ou après son séjour, l’élève réalisera u stage-projet d’une durée totale de 22 semaines encadré par un enseignant-chercheur de la PUC ou de TP, et dont le sujet doit être validé par un enseignant de la PUC. Le rapport pourra être rédigé en français ou en portugais.

 

Nombre d’ECTS locaux rapportés à l’étudiant Télécomien par semestre 

Attention, au Brésil les crédits ne sont pas exprimés en ECTS. Pour cette formation, 1 crédit = 15h de cours. Par ailleurs, 24 crédits maximum par semestre.

Information transmise par PUC Rio:

Exchange students must take a minimum of 2 classes (8 credits) and a maximum of 5

classes (24 credits) including the mandatory Portuguese as a second language course for

who is not proficient in Portuguese.

1 credit = 1 class hour/week of lecture class or 2 hours laboratory class/week or 3 hours

of exercise class/week, considered standard term of 15 weeks.

Nota Bene (transmis par PUC Rio) : PUC est une université catholique. Tous les étudiants, independament de leur religion, sont tenus d'obtenir un certain nombre d'unités de valeur en matières qualifiées comme de formation religieuse. Il est impossible de recevoir un diplôme de PUC sans satisfaire à cette condition. Il est important que les étudiants français soient au courant de cette règle. Niveau de langue requis et langue des cours

Information transmise par PUC Rio : Although students are not required a specific level of proficiency in Portuguese language, all exchange students must take a placement test in order to confirm his/her knowledge of Portuguese on the first day of classes.

All exchange students are required to take the Portuguese course during regular academic

term even if they apply to classes taught in English.

Students also have the opportunity to take an Intensive Portuguese as a Second Language

course before the regular semester begins, although this course is not mandatory.

Pre-Term Portuguese as a Second Language Intensive Course, held before the regular

semester, will not be included in the student’s transcript even if he/she enrolls in the

regular semester. Instead, students who take the Pre-Term Portuguese as a Second

Language Intensive Course will receive a certificate of completion indicating the course

date, student’s grade and level of Portuguese taken.The Portuguese language courses are offered at five different levels: from very basic to the advanced levels.

Each student will take a placement test to confirm his/her exact knowledge of Portuguese.

This course aims to develop the student’s written and oral skills in Portuguese, preparing

international students to attend regular courses at the university during the subsequent

The courses taught in English have an undergraduate content in different areas.

These courses are subject to academic planning. Along with the courses in English, international students must attend Portuguese as a Second Language class during their academic semester, as well as any other courses in Portuguese recommended by the coordinator.No English level is required to attend the courses taught in English. Although an

Pour que l’institution puisse faire l'inscription des elèves et, à terme, leur donner un diplome d'ingénieur, il faut qu'ils apportent les documents suivants, traduits en portugais:par un traducteur officiel. L'élève doit vérifier s'il est plus interessant de faire la traduction en France ou au Brésil.

  1. Official nominee letter with the name of the students, period of the attendance and student´s e-mail address.
  2. A 3x4 cm sized photo of the students scanned
  3. Official Transcripts
  4. A copy of the main page of a valid student passport
  5. Personal Statement Letter (Students introduce themselves explaining why they would like to study at PUC-

Rio).

  1. Copy of the International Health Insurance with company name and number. As we know that students

while are in Brazil travel a lot, we strongly recommend students to take the yellow fever vaccine. The vaccine is

applied ten days before the student trip. Send us the certificate of the vaccine too.

  1. COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate: In addition to the regular International Health Insurance, we strongly

recommend students to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

 Informations pratiques – visa

A student visa is required. The visa must be obtained BEFORE the student´s entrance in Brazil. A tourist visa cannot be transferred into a student visa inside the country. When the applicant is accepted, CCCI will send a LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE that will enable him/her to obtain a visa at a Brazilian Consulate.

International students can study at PUC-RIO as Exchange Students, as Independent Students or as Extension Students. However, please be aware that after your arrival in Brazil you are not able to change your student status. For instance, if you are registered as an Independent Student you cannot change your status to Extension Student or Exchange Student. Remember that if you only come to participate in the Intensive Portuguese Course, a student visa is not required. However, if you intend to study during the entire semester, the tourist visa is not accepted, and a student visa is therefore required. Please read the Registration Procedures carefully.

Exchange students do not pay tuition.

An administrative cost is charged. International students are allowed to attend courses at PUC-Rio up to two regular terms plus the Pre-Term Portuguese as a second language Intensive Course.

Students registered for a year or those who request extension of the student exchange period, will pay the renewal of the administrative cost charged during the deadline for the Exchange Period Extension.

Please be aware that all payments (tuition, orientation fee, administrative cost, etc.) must be made in cash (Reais). Traveler's checks, credit cards, checks are not accepted.

We assist students with special needs through our work closely with the Center for

People with Disabilities – NAIPD. http://www.puc-rio.br/sobrepuc/admin/vrac/rae/

The NAIPD works directly with the CVI (Central of Independent Life).

In case of students with learning disabilities, we have to contact their professor to

inform their necessity. We can also help the students that need some extra time to take

test, or exams or different kind of computer program etc.

We cannot provide a Note Taker, but we can help the student to find a volunteer

colleague to help him/her in this matter.
